In mid 2018 I found a 2003 base Boxster for sale with low mileage and made it mine. I took the car to R2 Racing and had them go over the car from bumper to bumper. They then replaced the clutch with a Sachs racing model, IMS, RMS and water pump, flushed all fluids and moved to a racing brake fluid.
At first I ran it in SS01, but I soon started to make improvements and had to move into CC05 because of modifications. In 2018 the car proved its worth and I won Zone 8 for my class.
Beginning in 2018/2019 I reached out to those that I felt had much to teach me about my car and its potential. I first went back to R2 Racing, Rafi and Robert, to see what the best mods for performance should be. Do we hype the power train or work on the suspension as we had a tight budget for point in my class.
I then contacted Bill Thorp, owner of one of the fastest 986's I have ever seen. He like R2 felt that suspension, wheels and tires would be a better way to go.
So back to R2 and they removed all the suspension in the car and replaced it with Monoball joints and add GT-3 lower front arms, thanks to Tarett Engineering and Elephant Racing. I then added 18 inch racing wheels, B&M short shift kit, Hawk racing brake Pads, Fabspeed race exhaust system, third radiator and Eng & Trans mounts from PRG products
